— Amy Hartman, Field Organizer, Bernie Sanders for President
Good afternoon Winnemucca folks for Bernie and thanks to everyone that came to our office opening last Friday. We had a great turnout. Jerry Hirsch was kind enough to take pictures of the event and I’ll be sure to post them on our Facebook page.
We have a lot of great events coming up over the next few days, here’s the full calendar:
TONIGHT! – Wednesday, January 20th at 6PM at Round Table Pizza (back room)
Jonathan Tasini in Winnemucca. Jonathan is the author of “The Essential Bernie Sanders and His Vision for America” and a longtime colleague of Senator Bernie Sanders. He’ll be speaking about Bernie’s ideas and initiatives and will be taking questions from the audience. Please join us! All are welcome.
TOMORROW! – Thursday, January 21st at 10AM at Sid’s Restaurant
Jonathan Tasini meets with Winnemucca seniors. Jonathan will be meeting with seniors to talk about issues affecting the senior population in Northern Nevada. Coffee and small breakfast items will be provided.
TOMORROW! Thursday, January 21st at 6PM at Bernie Campaign HQ
Phone Banking – We’ll hold our first Winnemucca phone bank at the new campaign headquarters in Winnemucca, located at 1024 Harmony Road. We’ll be calling other folks in the Winnemucca area to talk with them about why we’re supporting Bernie and why we hope they will as well. If you can, please bring a reliable phone and a computer, laptop, or tablet. If you don’t have a phone or laptop, we can provide one. All are welcome, please feel free to bring kids along as well. I’ll make sure to have some coloring and drawing materials for them.
SATURDAY – January 23rd at 10AM at Bernie Campaign HQ
Canvassing – We’ll hold our first Winnemuccca weekend canvass and phone bank, where we’ll be knocking on doors and making phone calls to neighbors to talk with them about Bernie and why we hope they’ll support his candidacy. Coffee and donuts will be provided.
We’ll be offering the Bernie Brigade Program out of our Winnemucca office. High school and college students will have the opportunity to get hands-on campaign experience and will be offered the chance to gain volunteer hours through the program. Students will commit about 10 hours a week to the program and will be doing a number of campaign activities, including but not limited to, phone banking, canvassing, data entry, and volunteer recruitment. It’s a really great opportunity for students to see the process of a political campaign and get some great hands-on experience. If you or someone you know is interested, feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at 301-789-5981.
Looking forward to seeing you over the next few days! #feelthebernwinnemucca
