Dear Democratic Activist,

 I hope you are as excited about our upcoming Training Summit on October 12 in Las Vegas and October 13 in Reno as I am!  We finally have the Eventbrite sign-ups ready to go so please reserve your spot as soon as possible as space is limited. 

Our training will include presentations from NGP/VAN, the Democratic National Committee, the Association of State Democratic Party Chairs and the Nevada State Democratic Party.  The agenda is still being finalized, but the training topics will include: using the voter file, social media, neighborhood organizing and much more.  The cost for the training is $25.00 and will include breakfast and a boxed lunch. 

The training is open to any registered Democrat no matter whether you are a seasoned volunteer, a candidate or someone new looking to get involved for the first time

Looking for a Few Good Women

Emerge Nevada is building a pipeline of Democratic women ready to run for office by recruiting, mentoring, and training them on the skills they need to win. Collectively, we have changed the face of Nevada politics and are poised for even bigger gains in the next election cycle. But we need you to become part of our movement!

Applications for the Class of 2014 will open September 1st, and will be accepted until October 15th.  The online application will be available on the Emerge Nevada website. 

Women are encouraged to apply early due to the detailed nature of the application. 

Not interested in running for office but know a woman who should? You can also help us create the next generation of Democratic women leaders by recommending someone you know to the program! Personal encouragement makes all of the difference in getting women to step up and run for office.

Are you considering running for some office but you don’t know all the ins and outs … and you don’t have a lot of money to pay for training to figure it all out?  Well here’s your chance to learn all kinds of things that will help you succeed.  Starting next week DFA is going to give you the skills to recruit and prepare local progressives to run for office – all you have to do is sign up!

This semester of Night School will tackle the question of ‘Getting a Campaign Off the Ground’. Every Wednesday for the next three weeks we’ll provide an interactive online training for grassroots progressives that will help us identify and prepare the best progressive candidates for the 2012 elections.

EMILY’s List Las Vegas Candidate Training

 On April 6th, EMILY’s List will be offering a terrific training opportunity for pro-choice Democratic women in Nevada. We would like to extend an invitation for you or someone you know to participate in the training.

 As you may know, EMILY’s List is a political donor network and political resource for pro-choice Democratic women candidates. EMILY’s List has initiated a program designed to recruit and train women to run for and serve in elected office in the states. Whether a pro-choice Democratic woman is currently serving on the school board, or in the State Assembly, or just beginning to think about running for elective office, we are certain this training will provide her with the skills and inspiration needed to successfully run for office.

We hope that you or a woman you might recommend, will join us at the Las Vegas Marriott, 325 Convention Center Drive, Las Vegas, NV, 89109. The program will begin Tuesday, April 6th at 8:00am and will be filled with training on fundraising, message development, direct mail and other important campaign issues, ending at 4:30pm.

The program, including materials and meals is free, however space is limited. Partial participation is not possible – you must make a commitment to attend the full program in order to be allocated a seat at the training. eRegistration Form – Las Vegas
